Biography

Certainly a proven voice talent speaks for itself.

Just as certainly, those familiar with Reece's work have something to say:

"Deborah Reece has one of the richest voices I've ever heard. Add her terrific work ethic, and you've got a top notch combination for any project."
- Kelly McCoy, WSB Radio Group

"I call upon Deborah Reece regularly for top quality voiceover work for video and film production. Her voice communicates four qualities I look for: Distinctiveness, Personality, Intelligence, and Friendliness. When I audition her voice with other narrators, my clients nearly always select Ms. Reece. She is a consummate professional - prepared, on-target, efficient and friendly. You would think that what she does is easy!"
- Dan Sperling Video & Film Productions, Georgia Addy & Emmy Award Winner

"Deborah Reece is truly one of the most talented and professional voices in the business today. She knows exactly how to express any VO project with perfect timing and inflection, and always gives me an exceptional product for my clients."
- Karen Greene  / June 2004 /  Owner-chief engineer, Spin South Productions

"Deborah Reece is a voiceover goddess!"
- Jeff Batten, Batten Communications

As a radio announcer, Reece has a decade-plus experience in varied formats from A.C. to Rock, Country to Jazz, and Classical:

"Deborah has what I call a Nordstrum/K-Mart voice: one that appeals to all strata of society. That's why I chose her to be the imaging voice of KJAZ. She's a discovery."
- Lawrence Tanter, Program Director - KJAZ, Los Angeles/San Diego, Voice of the L.A. Lakers

"She has a talent for production, and can do various accents as needed. Deborah is also a hard worker, dependable, and a joy to be around. She is a most talented singer as well. My recommendation is to hire her without a second thought. You'll never find anyone better. She is great!"
- H. Randolph Holder, Sr., Late Chairman - Clarke Broadcasting Corporation

Beyond radio and television ad production and copy writing, Reece has both voiceover and on-camera experience in industrial video, utilizing acting, ear prompter, and script editing skills in that medium. Reece possesses the range of style and approach essential to a professional voice talent. In past projects, she has mastered highly technical scripts in the fields of law and engineering. She has effectively delivered highly sensitive, emotionally charged pieces on health and safety issues. She is a talent for Vericom/Soundcare, one of the country’s premiere hospital healthcare messaging providers.  And her more lighthearted informational presentations, as in work for Sperling Film and Video, are equally winning.

VOCALIST

That range is no less apparent in Reece's work as a vocalist. Her abilities run the gamut from soft harmony, folk, torch, pop and rock, to muscular, melodic soul singing, making her a natural for jingle work, demo singing, and session work.

Reece has performed as a lead and backup singer based out of Athens, Ga., fronting and guesting in a variety of bands, playing venues in Atlanta, Athens, and points throughout the southeast. Plat Eye Blue, her 5-piece blues-rock unit was selected for Atlanta's 1992 New South Music Showcase. The band was co-produced by Mark Richardson whose production/engineering credits include Drivin N Cryin, Smashing Pumpkins, The Georgia Satellites, Emmy Lou Harris and Mark O'Connor, among others.

Reece has thus established a reputation that has gained the attention of Atlanta/Athens' finest musicians. Producer John Keane (R.E.M., The Cowboy Junkies,10,000 Maniacs,…) has called on her for harmonies and embellishments on many a session. Reece has served as backup and featured vocalist for Randall Bramblett (New West Records, Capricorn Records). Randall Bramblett is an accomplished singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A founding member of Sea Level with Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell, he has worked with industry greats such as Gregg Allman, Levon Helm, and Steve Winwood. Reece also enjoys singing backup for Nashville / Atlanta Soulstress, Diane Durrett (Glass House Records).

"Deborah Reece has a wide range of music styles that we've worked with: rock, pop, blues, jazz - sweet and rough! She has provided outstanding lead vocals on four assignments to date. Our most recent project was a corporate music video for CIBA Vision. The client was positively thrilled with her rendition of a blues song. I don't say it lightly and I don't say it metaphorically when I say that Ms. Reece has a world-class vocal talent. She simply does!"
- Dan Sperling Video & Film Productions
